Nerve symptoms can show up in the hands, feet, arms, legs, or head. At Healing Response, we use StimPod NMS460 as part of individualized care for concerns ranging from carpal tunnel and other nerve entrapments to nerve injuries, migraine, and diabetic neuropathy. We start by understanding the pattern you're experiencing and the activities you want to do more comfortably.
What is StimPod?
StimPod NMS460 is a handheld device that delivers electrical stimulation through a point-contact electrode placed on the skin over a selected peripheral nerve. During the visit, your clinician adjusts the stimulation and checks in with you so the experience feels comfortable and tailored to you.
StimPod is FDA-cleared for symptomatic relief and management of chronic intractable pain and certain adjunctive pain uses. Its clearance also specifically includes temporary relief of mild-to-moderate neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy of the lower extremities. The other concerns discussed here describe how our clinic uses the device, not separately cleared diagnoses.
Where might targeted nerve stimulation fit?
For hand symptoms, we may explore nerve entrapment such as carpal tunnel, or brachial plexus-related issues that can contribute to numbness in the hands. For people with migraines, our clinicians may stimulate the greater and lesser occipital nerves. We also use StimPod for other nerve injuries and pain patterns, including diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
We listen to how your symptoms began, where they travel, and what they keep you from doing. An assessment helps us decide which nerve or region to focus on and whether StimPod, acupuncture, another clinic service, or coordinated care best fits your goals.
What does a visit look like?
We'll review your symptom pattern and health history, choose a comfortable starting point, and check in with you as the stimulation is applied. Your feedback helps us adjust the approach and notice changes that matter to you, whether that's hand comfort, headache days, sleep, or everyday movement.
What happens first?
- 1Tell us about your numbness, tingling, headaches, or nerve pain and how they affect daily life.
- 2Discuss the nerve or region we may focus on and what a StimPod session involves.
- 3Agree on a comfortable approach and goals you can revisit together.
Could this be a good place to start?
If nerve entrapment, an injury, migraine, or other persistent nerve symptoms are getting in your way, a consultation is a chance to explore whether targeted stimulation belongs in your care plan.
Common questions
Does a session involve needles or an implant?
The device delivers stimulation through a small point-contact electrode on the surface of the skin. It does not require needles or an implant.
Is StimPod only for diabetic neuropathy?
We also consider it for nerve entrapment, nerve injury, and other pain patterns—including carpal tunnel and migraine-related occipital nerve stimulation—based on your individual assessment. Diabetic peripheral neuropathy has a specific additional FDA-cleared indication; we do not present every condition as a separately cleared indication.
